Quattr MCP at work · Traffic diagnosis
Why is your organic traffic dropping?
A months-long slide in organic traffic usually has one of five causes: lost rankings, weaker demand, a tracking break, one failing page type, or a search page that changed above you. Check them in order of evidence. In the video, rankings actually improved while an AI answer box took the clicks.
The recording below is the whole workflow: 4 ordinary questions, asked in an AI chat with Quattr connected.
Traffic more than halved in six months. Nobody could say why.

This run
In this video, it traces a six-month traffic slide to the search page changing above rankings that held.
What the run returned
The numbers set the scope of the problem; the decision names the work that moves it.

Four prompts, copied exactly as written; the video shows what comes back.
Requires the Quattr MCP connection to read your organization's data. The prompt alone will not return your numbers.
- Prompt 1 Our organic traffic has been sliding for months. How bad is it?
- Prompt 2 Is that a real decline, or am I reading noise?
- Prompt 3 Is this the whole site, or is it only happening in one category?
- Prompt 4 So why? What actually changed for those pages?

Why does organic traffic slide for months?
Five causes; work down them in order of evidence, cheapest check first.
01The search page changed above you
AI answers, answer boxes and extra ads push the first result further down, so the same ranking earns fewer clicks. You will see click-through falling while average position holds or improves. The fix: structured, direct answers on the pages that matter, so you become the source the AI answer cites.
02Rankings actually fell
Lost positions are the first suspect and the cheapest to check, so rule them out before anything else. You will see average position rising in Search Console alongside the traffic drop. The fix: compare the falling pages against the queries they lost, and rebuild what the pages that replaced you have.
03Demand moved away
Fewer people searching means fewer clicks at the same rank and the same click-through. You will see impressions falling roughly in step with clicks. The fix: follow where the demand went, and cover the newer phrasings people ask now.
04Tracking or indexing broke
A migration, a robots change or a removed tag can read as a traffic collapse when it is a measurement one. You will see a sharp step on a single day rather than a slope over months. The fix: check index coverage and your analytics tags before touching any content.
05One page type dragged the site down
A template that loses its rankings can hide inside a whole-site average. You will see one category falling far harder than the rest when you split traffic by page type. The fix: diagnose that template on its own, starting with what its winning rivals share.

0Traffic has more than halved in six months, and nobody can say why.
6So, I start exactly where you'd start, with the question everybody asks first, how bad has this actually got?
14So it pulls six months of whole-site traffic through the Quattr MCP.
20Right. Every single month, lower than the one before it. That isn't a blip. That's a slide.
29Nearly 60% of the organic traffic, gone, and it went quietly.
36Now, this is usually when somebody starts rebuilding half the site. So first, is it even real?
43It sets the last three months against the three before them, day by day.
50And it is. Not a glitch, and not a seasonal dip either.
56Which is the useful answer, because now we can go and find the cause.
1:02So is this the whole site, or is it only happening in one category?
1:08It splits those six months apart, category by category.
1:15Oh, now that's interesting. Everything is sliding, but one category is falling far faster than the rest.
1:24And, when the whole site moves together like that, the cause usually isn't the site.
1:33Which finally brings us round to the question I actually came here to answer.
1:39It checks the usual suspects first, then looks at the search page itself.
1:46And here it is. We never fell down the rankings. What changed is what Google now puts above us.
1:54So, it was never the site. Search itself changed shape. That's the Quattr MCP.
2:01It doesn't just tell you what fell, it tells you what took your place.
Frequently asked questions
Were the numbers in the video real?
This video is recreated from an anonymized session: the interaction is faithful to a real run on a connected account, and the figures shown have been changed or are illustrative rather than a customer’s own numbers.
Can the Quattr MCP diagnose my traffic drop?
Yes. Connect Quattr to your AI chat once, then paste the four prompts above. The same sequence runs on your own numbers: how bad it is, real or noise, where it concentrates, and what changed above you.
How does it tell a real decline from noise?
It compares the two periods day by day rather than on totals, runs a statistical test, and prints the verdict with the evidence. A reporting wobble or a seasonal dip fails that test; a real decline passes it.
Where do these prompts run?
In any AI chat that can use connectors (the standard is called MCP). The prompt never names Quattr; the connection is what routes the question to your data, which is why it reads like an ordinary question.
What data can the Quattr MCP read?
Search Console clicks, impressions and rankings, web analytics, paid search, search market share against competitors, AI visibility across assistants, and Core Web Vitals. Every answer is pulled live from the connected account, so the numbers match what your dashboards show.
