Quattr MCP at work · AI Overviews
How do you prove an AI Overviews win is real?
To prove an AI Overviews win, show three things: your appearances grew, they grew faster than the number of searches showing an AI Overview at all, and your share moved against the other domains cited. Growth alone can just be the surface expanding. In the video, appearances outgrew the surface itself by nearly four times.
The recording below is the whole workflow: 3 ordinary questions, asked in an AI chat with Quattr connected.
Something went right this quarter. Now prove it before you say it out loud.

This run
In this video, it tests an AI Overviews win against the surface's own growth and every domain cited.
What the run returned
The numbers set the scope of the problem; the decision names the work that moves it.

Three prompts, copied exactly as written; the video shows what comes back.
Requires the Quattr MCP connection to read your organization's data. The prompt alone will not return your numbers.
- Prompt 1 Our visibility in Google's AI Overviews looks up. By how much?
- Prompt 2 Is that us improving, or did AI Overviews just get more common?
- Prompt 3 And how does that compare with everyone else in these answers?
How Quattr produced the answer
An ordinary question, answered from your own named sources.
Quattr MCP is the read-only bridge between your AI client and Quattr's connected search data and analytical tools. Agents and Skills turn those tools into repeatable search work.

What makes an AI Overviews win safe to claim?
Five parts; each one closes a way the claim could fall apart.
01Measure the surface before you measure yourself
AI Overviews are the answer boxes at the top of Google's results page, and how often they appear changes month to month. You will see the count of searches showing one move on its own, with no change from you. The move: track both numbers from the start, your appearances and the searches showing an AI Overview at all.
02State the win in daily counts first
Percentages flatter small starting points, so a claim that holds begins with how many times a day your pages appear in those answers. It looks like a daily appearance count this quarter set against the same count last quarter. The move: lead with the daily number and its previous value, and let the percentage come second.
03Compare your growth against the surface's growth
If AI Overviews simply became more common, everyone's appearances rose with the tide and nobody gained ground. You will see your growth rate sit close to the surface's growth rate whenever the win is not real. The move: put the two rates side by side, because outgrowing the surface several times over is the claim that survives questioning.
04Rank yourself against everyone else cited
Share is the cleanest proof, because every domain competes for the same set of answers and share cannot rise for everybody at once. You will see a leaderboard of the most cited domains with your row moving up it. The move: name who you passed and who stood still, because a rival that stayed flat while you doubled is the sharpest line in the deck.
05Say which surface you mean
Appearing in Google's AI Overviews and being cited by assistants like ChatGPT or Perplexity are different surfaces with different numbers. It looks like one blended AI visibility figure that nobody can check against either source. The move: report the answer box on Google's results page as its own line, and keep assistant citations separate.

0For once, this is a good news story, and the job is not to find the problem.
6It is to make sure the good news survives the first person who questions it.
11So we start by asking how big that improvement actually was in plain and simple numbers.
18It pulls our visibility inside Google's AI overviews, this quarter set against the one
23before it.
26And that is a real jump.
28Nearly three times as many appearances as we had last quarter.
33296 a day, up to 818.
38That is going straight into somebody's board deck.
43Which is exactly when somebody in the room will ask the awkward question, so let us ask it first.
51It compares how fast we grew against how fast the surface underneath us grew over the same months.
59And this is the bar that matters.
1:02The surface did grow, but nothing like as fast as we did.
1:0648% more searches showing one of these answers, and 177% more appearances for us.
1:17There is one last check worth doing, before anybody stands up and says any of this out loud.
1:25It ranks every domain competing in our market by its share of those very same answers.
1:34And there we are in third, having just gone past the encyclopedia that gets quoted everywhere.
1:41But look at the rival directly above us.
1:44They did not move at all this quarter, while we nearly doubled.
1:51So the team gets to claim the win, and it will hold up when somebody pushes back on it.
1:56That is the Quattr MCP.
1:58It is just as careful with the good news as it is with the bad.
Frequently asked questions
Were the numbers in the video real?
This video is recreated from an anonymized session: the interaction is faithful to a real run on a connected account, and the figures shown have been changed or are illustrative rather than a customer’s own numbers.
Can the Quattr MCP prove a win like this on my site?
Yes. Connect Quattr to your AI chat once, then paste the three prompts above. The same sequence runs on your own numbers: how much you grew, whether you outgrew the surface itself, and where you rank among every domain cited.
How does it count our AI Overview appearances?
The connected account checks the tracked searches in your market every day and records which ones show an AI Overview and which domains that answer cites. Your appearances, the size of the surface, and every competitor's share all come from those same daily checks.
Where do these prompts run?
In any AI chat that can use connectors (the standard is called MCP). The prompt never names Quattr; the connection is what routes the question to your data, which is why it reads like an ordinary question.
What data can the Quattr MCP read?
Search Console clicks, impressions and rankings, web analytics, paid search, search market share against competitors, AI visibility across assistants, and Core Web Vitals. Every answer is pulled live from the connected account, so the numbers match what your dashboards show.
Put your next win through the test
