5 best Claude MCPs & ChatGPT plugins for GA4 & web analytics (2026)
Web analytics in an AI tool is only as good as two things. What may the assistant read? And how does it aggregate? Both belong on the card. The five here span two adjacent categories. Some read web and marketing analytics. Others are product-usage platforms: Amplitude, PostHog and Mixpanel. Teams ask both kinds the same questions, so both are here. The range runs from Google's own experimental server to governed, goal-aware analysis.
Ranked on
- First-party grounding Does it answer from accounts you own: Search Console, analytics, ads, logs? Or from a third-party index and modeled estimates?
- Governed analyses & statistics Does the server run defined analyses with significance gates? Those gates stop a thin sample reading as a confident answer. Or does it hand your assistant raw rows to assemble and judge itself?
- Provenance on every answer Does each answer carry its scope and a freshness date? Can you click back to the source?
- Named-goal conversion binding This one applies to tools with a named-goal model: GA4 and Adobe. Do conversions come back as your own named goals? Or as a generic event count? Product-analytics platforms bind conversion differently. They use funnels and metrics you create. Mismatched definitions break any cross-tool comparison.
- Read/write scope control Before an assistant can write to your workspace, check what the server documents. A read-only mode? Per-tool filtering? Organization or project pinning?
Our entry is in this list. We publish it, and rank 1 is ours, so read the criteria first and the competitor entries on their own terms. Each is described from its public documentation, with what it does better than us stated where it does.
How this was checked
- Verification window
- Aug 2 to Aug 8, 2026
- Read for every entry
-
- each vendor's own product documentation
- release notes and changelogs
- published pricing and metering pages
- documented client-support matrices
If a vendor's own docs don't mention a feature, we mark it "not documented." That's a gap in what's published, not a verdict that the feature is missing. Where their docs contradicted a claim we carried, we changed the claim.
What is in, and what is not
Qualified for this list
- The server must read a dataset the buyer already owns: GA4, Adobe, or a product-analytics workspace. It has to reach it through the vendor's own documented endpoint.
- Setup, authentication, supported clients and cost must be stated in public vendor material. We had to fetch and date that material. Third-party summaries did not count.
Looked at and left out
- Amplitude Docs MCP server, Reads public Amplitude documentation, not a tenant's analytics data.
- Community-built GA4 MCP servers, No vendor-published documentation to verify scopes, clients or support against.
- Warehouse and BI MCPs over exported GA4 tables, Query a warehouse, not a web-analytics account's own reporting layer.
The ranking

Quattr MCP + plugin Ours, bias disclosed Best for: GA4 joined to search & named goals
58 governed analyses over your first-party data. Governed means pre-built analyses with locked definitions. A question computes the same way every time. GA4/Adobe conversions come back as your named goals, never a generic metric. They join GSC, Google Ads and AI-agent logs. Quattr's own AI-surface and SERP observation joins too. The taxonomy engine reads your own labels for content, demand and conversions. One control plane for search and web analytics.
- Taxonomy engine: your categories, intents, and named goals
- Significance tests return a verdict on whether a change is real. Refuses causal claims from a trend line.
- Interactive cards carry scope, freshness, and deep-links. An ⚠ Observational chip marks numbers as observed, not causal. If a source is missing, it refuses and gives the reason.
- A skills plugin for Claude runtimes, in private beta
Consider
- The analyses are fixed. You compose questions against them. There is no arbitrary SQL over raw GA4 event tables.
- When a source is missing or a sample is too small, it refuses and says why. No number comes back.

2 Google Analytics MCP
Best for: raw GA4 reports, first-party & free
Google's official Analytics MCP server is labeled experimental. It reads GA4 through the Data and Admin APIs: core, funnel and realtime reports, account summaries, custom dimensions. It runs locally under Application Default Credentials. Those let it reuse the Google login already on your machine.
- First-party GA4 reporting from the owner of the API
- Read-only by construction, on the analytics.readonly scope
- Free and open source (Apache-2.0)
Consider
- Labeled Experimental, and installed locally via pipx under Application Default Credentials. No hosted endpoint is documented.
- Documented tools read the GA4 Data and Admin APIs. Search Console and ad-platform metrics are not among them.
- Documented client setup covers Gemini CLI, Gemini Code Assist and Claude Code. No official ChatGPT app is listed.

3 Amplitude MCP
Best for: product analytics, read and write
Amplitude is a product-usage analytics platform. Its hosted MCP exposes analytics, taxonomy and content as tools: charts, dashboards, cohorts, experiments. It reads and writes over OAuth, bounded by your existing Amplitude permissions.
- Read and write across analytics objects, not query-only
- Available to all customers including the Free plan, with an EU endpoint
Consider
- Reads only Amplitude projects your account already has permission to view. Org admins can restrict MCP under Settings > Content Access.
- ChatGPT support runs through developer mode, documented as a beta preview. That is not a standard app install.
- Scoped to Amplitude workspaces. Product analytics is the category, so GA4 and Adobe properties are not documented sources here.

PostHog MCP
Best for: the whole product stack in one server
PostHog's free hosted MCP endpoint exposes product analytics, feature flags, error tracking, experiments and conversion goals as tools. HogQL queries come too. That is PostHog's own SQL dialect over your event data. The endpoint auto-routes to your US or EU data region.
- Documented read-only mode, tool filtering and org/project pinning
- Open source, with a one-command wizard install into seven clients
Consider
- Read-only mode, tool filtering and org/project pinning are opt-in. You set them via headers or query parameters. They are not the default connection.
- Connecting and calling tools is free. Some tools use LLMs internally and bill as PostHog AI spend.
- The semantic layer for governed metrics is documented as alpha.

5 Mixpanel MCP
Best for: governed event analytics in chat
Mixpanel is product analytics too. Its hosted MCP queries events, funnels, flows, retention and session replays. Assistants can also create boards and manage Lexicon. That is Mixpanel's dictionary of events and properties, where each one is named, described and marked verified. US, EU and India endpoints are documented.
- Governance built in: Lexicon verification, tagging and Verified Mode flags on results
- Session replay analysis alongside event data
Consider
- Accounts created before August 1, 2026 need an org admin to enable MCP in Settings. Changes take up to 15 minutes.
- Documented rate limit: 600 MCP requests per hour per user. No MCP-specific pricing is documented.
- Documented as not supporting HIPAA requirements. Service accounts, experiments and feature flags are labeled beta.

Side by side
Every entry against the same five criteria. Not documented means the vendor's own material does not address it, a gap in what is published, not a judgement about what the product can do.

| Mixpanel MCP governed event analytics in chat | Reads your Mixpanel projects via US, EU or India endpoints. | Lexicon governance with Verified Mode, unverified entities flagged, not excluded. | Verified Mode flags results, unverified entities marked, verified equivalents preferred. | Not documented | Org admin enables MCP in Settings, board creation and Lexicon management included. |
Test one of these in an afternoon
- Connect one server to your assistant. Ask for last month's conversions, broken out by your own named goals.
- Ask which goal definitions produced that number. Ask what population it covered, and how it aggregated the rows.
- A trustworthy answer names the property or project, the date window and the freshness date. It links back to the source report.
- Then ask for a metric the account has no data for. A tool worth keeping says the source is missing. It does not estimate a figure.

Change history
- Aug 17, 2026 Re-verified every documentation claim against each vendor's current material and corrected 2 where their own docs contradicted us (Amplitude MCP, PostHog MCP). Each correction credits a capability we had marked absent. Rewrote the prose for readability against the house voice guide. No ranking, criterion or verified claim changed in that pass.
- Aug 8, 2026 Re-verified every written entry against vendor documentation. Added documented considerations to each one including our own, ranking criteria specific to this list with a definition apiece, the verification window and sources, inclusion criteria, and a side-by-side table.
