The platform ensures secure file transfers, optimized workflows, and actionable insights, empowering enterprises to confidently manage sensitive communications and maintain regulatory compliance.
The Kiteworks marketing team, led by Patrick Spencer, VP of Corporate Marketing, collaborated closely with Quattr to implement a new and scalable internal linking strategy. Robert Dougherty, Director of SEO Content, and his team used Quattr's Autonomous Internal Linking technology to automate the site's linking structure and improve overall content discoverability.
THE CHALLENGE
Internal linking has always been part of the website optimization toolkit, but as Google search evolves with new surfaces and LLM platforms emerge, it becomes increasingly critical for discoverability.
For an enterprise leader like Kiteworks, treating internal linking as a simple maintenance task was no longer an option. The team recognized the need to transform it into a strategic growth engine but faced significant hurdles in two key areas: technical barriers and measurement challenges.
The team needed a solution that could overcome these challenges:
1. Generating relevant internal links at scale beyond basic keyword matching
2. Creating dynamic anchor text using actual prospect search queries
3. Building a living link graph free from constraints of fixed URL lists and static anchors
4. Scaling across multiple languages and markets
1. Isolating internal linking impact in a zero-click ecosystem
2. Proving value during market-wide traffic declines and algorithm changes
3. Monitoring visible change with statistical validation beyond correlation
THE SOLUTION
Kiteworks, a long-time Quattr customer with a robust data lake of first-party search data, partnered with Quattr to execute a completely new internal linking strategy. The goal was to move beyond static, logic-based links (like 'Most Recent Posts') and deploy an intelligent, self-optimizing link graph across their entire site. This strategic shift was designed to transform internal linking from a simple maintenance task into a primary engine for content discovery and user journey optimization.
The core of the solution was Quattr's Autonomous Linking API, which understands content on a deeper, more human level. Instead of relying on basic keyword matching, the platform uses two key data sources.
1. Vector Embeddings: The vector database intelligence analyzes page and query embeddings to understand the true semantic context of the content, going far beyond simple keyword matching. This ensures every internal link we create is perfectly relevant.
2. Real-time Demand Signals From GSC: The system then connects to your live Google Search Console data. It uses the exact phrases and questions your prospects are searching for on SERP to create powerful, high-intent anchor text for your links.
To ensure the link graph was truly 'living' and not just a one-time fix, the system was designed to be future-ready. As new content goes live, Quattr automatically updates Kiteworks' entire content library based on a scheduled refresh (daily, weekly, or monthly). This ensures new pages get relevant links from existing ones, and older content is updated to point to the new pages, keeping the entire content ecosystem perpetually optimized without manual effort.
Quattr provides a direct API and an SDK for WordPress and HubSpot. Kiteworks leveraged the WordPress SDK integration, and a Quattr engineer was forward-deployed to assist in implementation. The result was dozens of modules connecting various parts of the site across funnel stages.
Many of these modules replaced the existing logic for showing related links. Instead of a static list of blogs or only the most recent, these modules now show the most relevant piece of content to move the bot or user deeper into the site or funnel.
One module was designed to serve relevant blog content within the same subcategory that the user or bot is reading. The other module below was a wider mapping of blogs outside the current blog’s category.
Quattr has configuration settings to prevent duplicate URLs from being served, detect if links are already present, and omit them from serving within the API.
User behavior patterns confirmed a trend of users scrolling down to the end of the page and pausing at the end of the content piece. Now, the related content at the bottom of the page was highly relevant to what the user was reading, instead of a default list of the most recent content.
This type of content was also meant to guide users to solution pages or later-stage resource material to continue the user on their journey.
THE RESULT
The impact of Quattr’s Autonomous Linking API was both immediate and substantial. By replacing over 53,000 static or legacy logic links, Kiteworks achieved statistically validated growth across every key SEO metric, proving the strategy's power even during a period of industry-wide volatility.
Within just eight weeks of deployment, Kiteworks reversed a decline in site indexation, achieving a 30% increase in indexed pages.
This improved discoverability drove an 18% increase in unique keywords and a 22% jump in keywords ranking in positions 1-3 within six weeks.
In a crucial test of the strategy's effectiveness, URLs with Quattr's dynamic internal links demonstrated significant resilience during an industry-wide SERP downturn. Using difference-in-differences analysis against a control group, linked pages dramatically outperformed unlinked pages, with key content areas seeing significant improvements:
1. Glossary Pages: 19.93% more SEO sessions
2. Solution Pages: 8.55% more SEO sessions
3. Blog Pages: 2.3% more SEO sessions
The semantic relevance of the new link graph directly translated to success in the new era of search. Kiteworks saw a staggering 79% expansion in AI Overview presence, with their content citation rate climbing 20% higher than the baseline within just one week.
As search changes to Zero Click and traditional SEO struggles, Kiteworks and Quattr proved that strategic internal linking at scale drives resilience and growth in new KPIs:
1. 30% indexation growth reversing decline
2. 79% More Citations in AI Overview
3. 16.72% session improvement while the market declined
4. Traffic preserved during industry-wide volatility
